Big 3 Upgrade Kit Specifics
As with all of out kits, our Big 3 Upgrade Kits include the very best components available. Rest assured, this is NOT three chunks of welding cable in a zip loc baggie! Each kit is incredibly well thought out and installation is a breeze - no crimping or soldering required!
The Best Cable
We use the very best cable we can get our hands on, all of which meets full American Wire Gauge (AWG) specification, is Pure Oxygen Free Copper (OFC), and tinned for corrosion resistance. Other companies use Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) cable in an effort to reduce cost. CCA has 30-40% greater resistance per foot than OFC, so while it may be cheaper, it also comes at the expense of performance.

The fine strand construction and soft jacket offer excellent flexibility – far superior to standard battery cable and better than the best welding cable!
The Best Parts
We custom assemble all cables in house and building the best cable requires the best parts. All eyelets used in the construction of our cables are the heaviest duty in the industry. They have up to twice as much copper weight as standard copper lugs, longer barrels which permit better crimping, and are tin plated to resist corrosion. These are simply the best quality eyelets we can find and they are ideal for high current applications!

All eyelets are installed via our crimping press and insulated with the thickest adhesive lined heat shrink available. This super thick adhesive lined heat shrink tubing prevents battery acid or oxidation from entering the connection itself.
Additionally, we include a complete assortment of Grade 5 Hardware with each kit. You'll have every single thing you need to get the job done right the first time - we guarantee it!

Which Kit Do You Need?
We offer Big 3 Upgrade Kits for Top Post and Side Post Applications in 1/0 AWG and 2 AWG. We offer each in three different lengths.
To determine which length kit you need, measure the distance from the alternator output stud to the battery positive terminal taking into account a nice smooth run for the cable. For example, if you measure 3 feet 4 inches, you will need a 4 foot kit.
TOP POST KITS
Our 3 foot Top Post Big 3 Upgrade Kit includes:
* Either 1/0 AWG or 2 AWG depending on the kit you choose General Hardware Each kit includes a complete assortment of Grade 5 hardware and cable ties required to complete the installation, including zinc plated internal/external star washers for all ground connections. Also Included is a complete assortment of hardware that permits easy connection to any alternator, as we include both SAE and metric bolts. You absolutely, positively will not have to run to the hardware store to install this kit! The 4 foot kit includes an additional foot of length for each of the two underlined cables listed above. FUSE THE CHARGE LEAD OPTION (for both top post or side post kits!)
Most OEM charge leads have a fusible link on them. Its purpose is to protect on-board electronics in the event that the regulator fails and causes "voltage run-away." Although this is quite uncommon, fusing the charge lead included in any of our kits provides the same protection for your larger than stock alternator.
When choosing this option, we'll include a Rockford Fosgate ANL Fuse Holder, a 100A / 125A / 150A / 200A / 250A / 300A fuse (your choice), and mounting hardware. In addition, we increase the length of the charge lead by 1 foot to allow you to choose a good mounting location for the fuse holder and still have a nice smooth run from the alternator to the battery.
